Flow State: Achieving Peak Performance

Flow state is a mental state of operation where a person is fully absorbed and fully involved, producing a sense of ecstatic feeling and peak performance.
The concept of Flow State was introduced by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, a renowned psychologist. It refers to the mental state where a person is completely immersed in what they are doing, characterized by a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and success in the process of the activity. For instance, an artist might experience a flow state while deeply involved in painting or a musician while composing. During this time, they lose track of time and everything else fades away except the task at hand. This heightened state of consciousness is linked to delivering peak performance.
The best moments in our lives are not the passive, receptive, relaxing times… The best moments usually occur if a person’s body or mind is stretched to its limits in a voluntary effort to accomplish something difficult and worthwhile. – Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi
