Kaizen is a Japanese philosophy of continuous improvement. It is achieved through small, steady, incremental changes, rather than big, radical changes.
Kaizen suggests a way of life that continually seeks improvement in every aspect. This may apply to individuals, companies, or societies. The idea is not necessarily to make large, far-reaching changes, but to make incremental improvements consistently over time. For example, in a business setting, a manager might encourage Kaizen by promoting small changes such as a cleaner workplace or improved filing system. These small changes eventually add up to a considerable improvement in productivity and morale.
The Kaizen philosophy assumes that our way of life - be it our working life, our social life, or our home life - deserves to be constantly improved.
