Mind-Body Connection

This mental model articulates the influence of thoughts and mental state on physical health and well-being.
The Mind-Body Connection proposes that our thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and attitudes can positively or negatively affect our biological functioning. For instance, consistent stress (a mental state) can lead to high blood pressure or heart disease (physical outcomes). On the flip side, what we do with our physical body (what we eat, how much we exercise, even our posture) can impact our mental state. This interconnection suggests that to truly take care of ourselves, we must consider both our mental and physical health.
