Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

MBSR is a mental model that involves directing attention towards the present moment in a non-judgmental way, this practice is used as a strategy for managing stress.
MBSR is a therapeutic mental model that invites individuals to focus on the present moment, rather than ruminating about past or anticipating future events. This could involve practices like mindful breathing, body scans, or mindful walking. For instance, a person stressed about a looming deadline may use MBSR to focus on their current action like typing, the sensation of the keys under their fingers, the sound of the keystrokes, thus reducing stress by staying in the present.
Mindfulness is the aware, balanced acceptance of the present experience. It isn't more complicated than that. It is opening to or receiving the present moment, pleasant or unpleasant, just as it is, without either clinging to it or rejecting it - Sylvia Boorstein
