Socratic Method

The Socratic Method is a mental model that involves asking thought-provoking, open-ended questions to stimulate critical thinking and illuminate ideas.
Named after the classical Greek philosopher Socrates, this model encourages the participants to question their assumptions and beliefs. Instead of directly providing the information, a coach using the Socratic Method would ask leading questions to guide the participant towards discovering the answers on their own. For instance, if a student states they're struggling with time management, instead of suggesting solutions, a Socratic questioning coach might ask 'What activities do you believe are taking up most of your time?' or 'How do you normally prioritize your tasks?'. The aim is to help them self-realize where their struggles are stemming from and how to improve the situation.
I cannot teach anybody anything, I can only make them think. - Socrates
