The Scientific Method

An organized methodology for investigating phenomena, acquiring new knowledge, or correcting and integrating previous knowledge.
The Scientific Method is a systematic way to observe, hypothesize, experiment, and come to a conclusion. Suppose a gardener notices their plants are not growing well. They form a hypothesis: The plants aren't getting enough sunlight. To test this, they move a grouping of plants to a sunnier spot and compare their growth to those that remained in the original location over several weeks. If the relocated plants fare better, they may conclude that lack of sunlight was the issue.
The scientific method, whatever its flaws, is unquestionably the finest tool devised thus far for understanding the mechanics of the universe. - Carl Sagan
