Growth mindset is a belief that one's abilities and intelligence can be developed through hard work, practice, and learning. It promotes continuous learning and resilience to challenges.
Growth mindset is a cognitive concept that focuses on the belief that skills and abilities can be developed over time. Unlike a fixed mindset that considers talent or intelligence as inherent traits, the growth mindset views failure not as proof of unintelligence or inability, but as an opportunity for growth and learning. For example, when a student struggles with a challenging math problem, those with a growth mindset would persist and seek various ways to solve it believing they can improve, rather than give up and believe that they’re just not good at math.
In a growth mindset, challenges are exciting rather than threatening. So rather than thinking, oh, I am going to reveal my weaknesses, you say, wow, here is a chance to grow. - Carol Dweck
